Alcohol trends in New Brunswick
They did a study in New Brunswick concerning people who are a bit older and alcohol. They surveyed people that were older than 55 years. What this study demonstrated was that while some people go on drinking past the age of 55 years old, the trend shows that people have a tendency to stop drinking alcohol when they get to a certain age. Study shows that women are more prone than man to abstain from drinking when they get past 55 or 60 years old.
Drunk and driving in New Brunswick
In 2003, there were 103 road fatalities in New Brunswick, and 96 of those had alcohol as a factor. That is a huge rate and it is alarming for the authorities. When it comes to the injured in traffic accidents involving a single vehicle, it was determined that 48% of car crashes injuries were alcohol-related. Drunk driving is a very serious felony that often can take lives. Alcohol can be a fatal factor on the roads and is seen that way with reason. But contrary to what people think, it doesn’t always have to be the driver. If a pedestrian has drunk a massive amount of alcohol, he could pose a certain action that could cause him to get him and so he becomes another statistics.
Alcohol statistic
The study also found that males are more prone to alcohol drinking than females. The odds of males starting to drink are more than two times higher than those of females. It seems that minors don’t drink as much as University students. The rate of college students drinking are three times higher than the students who are only in high school. There is also another factor that can influence the drinking tendencies, the income made. People who have greater income than 25 000 dollars are more prone to drinking alcohol.
When people get older, over 50 years old, males drink three times as many alcohol beverages than the females. There is only one or two percent of the older people who drink a lot of alcohol, at least fifteen alcoholic drinks in a week. But this actually means that those people are putting their health at risk by drinking too much alcohol. And again males do drink more than woman.
