Alberta Aftercare Drug and Alcohol Treatment
Aftercare treatment is commonly done after someone has completed an inpatient or outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. Many of the substance abuse treatment resources within the province do offer aftercare services when a client has completed rehab. Aftercare treatment can be considered sober living communities, halfway homes, and group support through twelve-step meetings. Former addicts living within Alberta will take advantage of these services because they can continue to focus on their treatment and recovery long after the formal therapy has stopped. It is important to know that when someone completes an Alberta drug rehab program that the treatment should not stop there, former addicts should be encouraged to continue with bettering themselves and other aspects of his or her life. Aftercare programs and support groups can help a person do this, and assist with them making an easy transition back into society again after they complete an Alberta substance abuse rehab program.
